We Have News For You – June 2023 Edition!

    This month saw a continuation of some bigger themes.

    It felt a bit like De ja vu harking back to the dark days of COVID lockdowns when the Talent Acquisition headcount was reduced across the Tech landscape. This strategy has been repeated recently as we’ve seen an uptick in Talent Acquisition redundancies.

    While nowhere near as severe as the redundancies during COVID, it’s still a bellwether of the state of play that might also lead some Businesses to utilise Agencies to pick up some of the slack.

    Also, the number of applications per job ad posted stabilised this month, equalling May, as the worst of the redundancies seems to be behind us. The relatively large number of applicants was also buoyed by a higher-than-usual number of migrants looking to enter the market.

    As an Agency, we worked on some really interesting assignments in June, though. These mostly revolved around very specific searches for senior candidates that have deep networks in specific verticals.

    We have been working on a few such roles in Canberra for Clients in areas such as Fraud, Compliance and Security Clients who are looking for a bigger foothold there. We have also been headhunting and using our extensive network to source high performers for commercial enterprise roles selling into areas like BFSI, with the Big 4 being top of the list.

    Most of these senior roles are ongoing searches where we work with the Client exclusively, and some of the wins this month also include;
