After only joining Pulse Recruitment in January, it feels as though Brian Rijsouw, our Director of Technologies, has been with us for years. Brian is managing a team of Tech Recruiters and is already utilising his extensive network to find roles ranging from entry-level support, technicians up to engineering leads.

When it comes to Sales & Marketing, we’re seeing that job ads continue to attract large numbers of applicants, with remote roles still being in high demand and generating around 30% more applicants than hybrid roles.

Additionally, as was the trend in the second half of 2023, there is a larger-than-normal talent pool currently active in the market while interview processes have lengthened.

Having said that, clients still struggle to attract high-performing sales hunters with proven track records, whether they be SDRs or Enterprise-level AEs. This market dynamic never really changes and we are finding that headhunting and engaging with passive talent from our various networks is the order of the day still.

    Here are some of the roles that we filled in Feb;
    – 2 x AEs – Edu Tech
    – BDM – Prop Tech
    – Enterprise AE – Fraud & Financial Crime Tech
    – NSW RAM – Cybersecurity
    – AE – HR Tech / Psychometric assessment tools
    – Solution Manager – Telco Infrastructure
    – US Marketing Lead – Logistics Tech
    – AE – Healthcare Rostering Platform
    – SME BDM – Digital Displays & Signage
    – Enterprise AE – Data Analytics

    On the tech front:
February has been a strong month for the Tech division here at Pulse Recruitment.

The tech landscape is picking up and our sales team has been taking advantage of it. We have not been sitting still. This month alone we have signed partnerships with three brilliant clients:

    • A Sydney based MSP
    • A large Tech organisation in Melbourne
    • Retained partnerships with a tier one Telco organisation.

Here are some of the roles we’re looking to fill with our clients:

    • Head of Information Technology
    • 3x Telco Riggers
    • Telco Technician

The Modern Cover Letter: Short, Targeted, Powerful

Let’s be completely honest: most cover letters are absolutely terrible. They are dense, generic, and painfully boring to read. They usually sound like a robot trying to mimic a 19th-century lawyer, packed with phrases like “Dear Hiring Committee, I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in…” followed by a wall of text that just…

The Skills That Will Get You Hired in 2026

The job market has changed dramatically over the past few years, and 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most skills-focused hiring climates in recent memory. Personal Branding for Introverts: How to Stand Out

The conventional wisdom around personal branding in sales feels exhausting for introverts: constant networking events, daily social media posting, aggressive self-promotion, and being “always on.” If you’re an introverted sales professional, you’ve probably felt the pressure to adopt extroverted behaviors to build your brand and advance your career. But effective personal branding doesn’t require you…

5 Red Flags Recruiters Look for (And How to Fix Them)

Tech sales recruiters review hundreds of resumes and LinkedIn profiles weekly. After thousands of placements, they’ve developed pattern recognition for red flags that predict poor performance, early turnover, or problematic behavior. These warning signs cause immediate disqualification regardless of how impressive other credentials appear. Understanding what recruiters consider red flags—and more importantly, how to fix…

How Enterprise Sales Became a Multi-Stakeholder Strategy Game

In the traditional “golden age” of sales, the path to a closed-won deal was often a straight line. You identified a decision-maker—usually a charismatic executive with a budget and a problem—convinced them of your value, signed a contract, and moved on to the next lead. This “single-threaded” approach relied on personal rapport and individual authority….

You Should Prioritize Alignment Over Compensation in Tech Sales

In the hyper-competitive world of tech sales, it is easy to be blinded by the “Big Number.” Recruiters often lead with eye-popping On-Target Earnings (OTE), signing bonuses, and equity packages that look like lottery tickets. For years, the prevailing wisdom was simple: follow the money. However, as we navigate the sales landscape of 2026, the…
