    Here at Pulse Recruitment, we are always trying to improve our client and candidate experience. After all, this is a people business, and we are only as good as our last interaction.

    We are constantly asking the market what they want from us and what they don’t want. Below are the top 5 complaints that we try to avoid at all costs;

    1. Overrepresenting the base salary to the market: This can lead to disappointment and frustration when candidates find out that the actual salary is lower than what was originally advertised. It can also damage the company’s reputation and discourage top talent from considering future job opportunities.
    2. Sending candidates that are not engaged or excited about the opportunity: If the candidate is not fully engaged, we are putting a square peg into a round hole, and this will never end well. Not to mention the wasted interview time.
    3. Quantity of candidates over quality being sent: Nothing breaks trust like spamming a high number of partially screened candidates. A shortlist of 3-5 highly engaged, qualified candidates is normally sufficient to get the right outcome.
    4. Generic job ads that don’t dive into the key selling points of the opportunity + company: This type of job ad does not provide enough detail or context to attract the right candidates. To engage the best, you need much more than a basic job description.
    5. Misrepresentation of the role: Misrepresenting the role can lead to candidates being disappointed or frustrated when they start the job and realise it’s not what they expected. This can result in high turnover, negative reviews, and damage to the company’s reputation
