Let\u2019s face it, you\u2019ve worked in another industry for 5, 10, 15+ years, and you\u2019re looking to start somewhere utterly fresh with minimal experience in that industry \u2013 this means you\u2019re likely dropping a significant amount of pay due to lack of experience. However, if the new career gives you the passion you\u2019ve been lacking, then we say do it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Next up,\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re probably going to be older than your peers<\/strong>\u00a0who are at the same level, or more senior than you. Don\u2019t stress \u2013 stay humble and an open-minded to learn and soak up as much knowledge as you can from these young guns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speaking of humble,\u00a0<strong>accept that you have a large learning curve ahead<\/strong>. Confidence is allowed, but that goes hand in hand with acknowledging when you don\u2019t know something. No one likes a \u201cknow-it-all\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lastly<strong>, you\u2019re going to have different habits and approaches<\/strong>\u00a0than your colleagues. You\u2019ve been around the block a little longer, and you\u2019ve worked in a completely different industry with specific terminology and ways of doing business. Your go-to techniques may be completely different than your peers. That\u2019s okay \u2013 sometimes a fresh approach will bring great energy to your new team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are often inspired by those who decide to make a career change. As clich\u00e9, as it sounds, getting out of your comfort zone, will allow you to grow in your personal and professional journey.
