Whether you\u2019ve considered a career in recruitment, or you\u2019re just downright curious about what we do all day \u2013 here\u2019s your chance to get a sneak peek at the life of a recruiter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our colleague shares what a typical day is like for him, although it\u2019s important to note that no two days are ever the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

7:15am<\/strong> \u2013 wake up time, get ready for work, 30-minute commute to the office.<\/span><\/p>\n

8:30am<\/strong> \u2013 arrive at the office<\/span><\/p>\n

8:30am to 9:30am<\/strong> \u2013 review applications, respond to candidate emails, and shortlist candidates to be called later in the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

9:30am to 10am<\/strong> \u2013 hop on LinkedIn to respond and\/or send out new messages to prospective candidates and clients.<\/span><\/p>\n

10am to 11:30am<\/strong> \u2013 review our other databases to search for candidates and compile a list of who to call later in the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

11:30am to 12:30pm<\/strong> \u2013 blitz hour to call candidates (typically, a good time to reach them is during lunch). Also, this is when he checks in with his candidates who are interviewing that day and coaches candidates who have upcoming interviews.<\/span><\/p>\n

12:30pm to 1:30pm<\/strong> \u2013 eat lunch, or interview candidates (depends on how busy the day is)<\/span><\/p>\n

1:30pm to 3pm<\/strong> \u2013 call back any clients he couldn\u2019t get a hold of, call clients to check in on how interviews went, write job ads and try to get a hold of job descriptions from HR Managers for upcoming roles.<\/span><\/p>\n

3pm to 5pm<\/strong> \u2013 focus on business development. Here he sets up meetings with warm leads and occasionally cold calling new organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n

5pm to 5:30pm<\/strong> \u2013 post jobs and general admin.<\/span><\/p>\n

5:30pm+<\/strong> \u2013 answering candidate calls (typically when they\u2019re finished work)<\/span><\/p>\n

In between all that, he\u2019s in team meetings, delivering good news (sometimes bad news) and occasionally playing ping pong amongst the office champions.<\/span><\/p>\n
