The news in December was dominated by the downfall of FTX in the US, as well as more redundancies across the Tech landscape locally. On a brighter note, though, ChatGPT gained over a million users in its first week after release making content writing a far easier exercise (good for many but bad for some). Unfortunately, it declined to write this article, saying that its “training data only goes up until 2021, and I am not able to browse the internet or access any new information”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Further rises in interest rates could trigger a recession next year which would mean that businesses don’t increase the number of users for their Tech stacks as much as in previous years, as they may either downsize or freeze hiring. Couple this with the fact that the acquisition of customers becomes harder in recessions, and there is the potential for 2023 to be a tough year.<\/span><\/p>\n

With all this being said, December was supposed to be a “quiet month” where we also wind down towards the new year. It turned out to be anything but that, as we still received plenty of new enquiries from new Clients looking to hire great talent, with start dates mostly pencilled in for early 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n
